Music has been a passion of mine for as long as I can remember. It was trailer music, though, that motivated me to begin writing for myself. Heavily influenced by artists such as Two Steps From Hell and Audiomachine, I set out to write "epic" music. But over time I began to realize that those styles are just a small corner of a vast world.
Today, I'm a composer specializing in music for games and films. I love writing and listening to anything with impact or emotion. I'm hopelessly in love with the orchestra, but I also enjoy working with other sounds - modern music is especially impressive because there are so many sources of inspiration.
It seems fitting to end with a brilliant closing statement about music, but I couldn't think of one so I'll have to steal the words from someone wiser.
"Works of art make rules; rules do not make works of art."
- Claude Debussy
Orchestral composers and sample library aficionados: I've created a Guide to Orchestral Sample Libraries that compiles information on many of the best and most popular orchestral VSTs into a single resource. If you need help navigating the confusing world of orchestral sample libraries, I recommend that you give it a try!
